Welcome to the ICT Department at Ysgol Bro Gwaun
ICT already has a heavy influence on people's lives nowadays, from internet shopping at home to sending emails in the workplace, and with this technology rapidly evolving it is now more important than ever to provide an excellent teaching environment for pupils to learn how to make use of this technology to the highest standard available to them. Furthermore as we move into this digital age ICT and Digital Competence must now be considered as a life skill, not only due to its potential as a tool for learning across the curriculum but as a skill which can be used throughout life.
As ICT is rapidly evolving so is our teaching, as we are constantly evolving our work to incorporate the most up to date software and skills to ensure our pupils leave with a wide variety of skills ranging from basic word processing to basic coding principles and applications.
We also strive to provide our pupils with a safe learning environment and look to involve E-Safety across the school to enable our pupils and staff to ensure they work safely and securely online. As part of our commitment to promoting and engaging our pupils in E-Safety we have been awarded the Committed and Progression to Safety Online Accreditation from 360 Degree Safe Cymru. We look forward to working towards the E-Safety Mark. Click on the images below to access our certificates.
